Embrace Fitness as a Lifestyle: Edition 7

Hi everyone! I hope your holiday season has been going well. This will be a short blog post today discussing some of my favorite home gym items that I recommend from Amazon. There's a lot of sketchy items that you can get. I wanted to share a few that I find are higher quality but reasonably priced. The product recommendations are under $100 (except the Bose speaker). After, I will also show you my new DIY project that has made hip thrusts set up less awkward.

Top 5 Amazon Home Gym Items

  1. Bose Soundlink Color II Bluetooth Speaker

I have been using this in my home gym for over two years now. The battery life is great and volume is perfect for my space. Remember, the best part about a home gym is that you can play whatever music as loud as you want!

2. Resistance Bands

Every home gym needs resistance bands. The versatility of this piece is unmatchable. I use these almost every Coaching session and in my personal training.

3. N-Gage Grips

I purchased these from Garage Gym outfitters during the fall. At the time, it was very difficult to do any movement with a barbell due to my wrist injury. I purchased these to help keep my wrists stable and increase grip strength. Overall, I love these and adds variety to my training.

4. Abmat Barbell Bomb

Now this reccomendation is for pretty much any landmine attachment you can get from Amazon. You can find other versions for about $20. I chose the Abmat Barbell Bomb because of the compactness and ability to move it anywhere in your gym. I think this is a great product for small spaces.

5. Gym Buddy Magnetic Phone Mount

Like many home gym owners, we workout on our own. I recommend this piece because it's important to review your lifting technique. I really like this product because it sticks anywhere on the power rack and can be adjusted quickly. This provides an easy way to record/review your lifts and PRs!

DIY Rotating Hip Thrust Bench

The one exercise I hate doing is hip thrusts. I'm not a fan of this exercise because it is awkward to properly set up for. Personally, I always find myself shifting myself all over the bench to find a comfortable position. I recently had an idea to build an adaptor that fits on my Titan Fitness multi-grip bar.

I think this idea has a lot of potential to be developed into something more. Especially since this uses a piece of equipment many home gym owners have.
